October 2008On October 7, at around 5:00 AM, the Ringed Planet, Saturn will rise in the morning twilight which will shine at magnitude +1.0. It will be located among the background stars of the constellation Leo, the Lion. The planet will be seen 17 degrees from the eastern horizon. On the same date, at around 6:00 PM, Venus and Mars will be located at 20 and 10 degrees above the western horizon and will be shining at magnitude -3.7 and +1.6, respectively. Venus will lie among the background stars of the constellation Libra, the Scales, while Mars will be found in the constellation of Virgo, the Virgin.
